I cannot emphasise enough how important this is (to reply onlist). If you are worried that your answer is incorrect and choose to post offlist that is no excuse not to make sure that you post it on list if you find out that your answer/random guess was correct and approrpriate. While i often post my random guesses offlist i do make a point of encouraging people to reply onlist if i am correct. Sometimes i even set the Reply-To: header to both me and the list to make this even clearer. The list gets archived on the web, and every good response onlist increases the chance of a user finding the right answer the want simply by using Google (or other search engine). The more content and information full of links we produce the better, it is marketing and only serves to increase the likely hood of a random search about Word Processing http://www.abisource.com turning up a link to Abiword. :) Ideally if your answer is correct you would take the time to add it to the FAQ, which as a Wiki based system is designed to encourage everyone to contribute. later Alan > > Cheers - Stephen. > ----------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word > unsubscribe in the message body. > http://advogato.org/person/AlanHorkan/ ----------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
