Gentlemen,
Just joined. Building and designing own single seater.
I have a design question. I have created 2 separate 6061 t6 tube tailplane halves which will be strutted from the boom with 2 struts to a single connection on the tailplane to allow incidence adj on ground. My question is whether there is a rule of thumb or formulae to find the outboard attach point on the tailplane and therefore the crossmember location. A case study of existing ul's seems to favour about 2/3. My gut feeling is aim for 45degrees on the struts if poss to use max strength in all directions.
