I have a LastEdit date/time field that updates on the Form_Dirty event when
any data that is directly entered in that form is changed. However, I have
a number of subforms, and it is equally important to update LastEdit when
any of the data in the subforms is changed, but I can't seem to find an
event that manages that. The LostFocus event can be used to trigger the
LastEdit update, but it should not happen if you just click in a subform
field and then back to the main form. I have tried this in the main form:

Private Sub subNotifications_Exit(Cancel As Integer)
    If Me.subNotifications.Form.Dirty Then
          Me.txtLastEdit = Now
    End If
End Sub

Using the Form_Dirty event from the subevent does not work. I can put a
field in the subform, and have its date update from the AfterUpdate of any
field in the subform, then make the main form LastEdit update on the
subform's LostFocus event, but seems to me there should be a better way.
Any ideas?
