"LA" would be the correct answer.  Are you sure you are placing it directly under the State field in the criteria row?
 
If you are going to use Like, you need a wildcard character.  Like "*LA*" will find anything which has an LA contained in the middle, such as Larson, Noland or Law
="LA" provides the same results as the "LA" criteria, it could be considered more correct.

I am going to take the certification test for access this saturday. I have preparing with MeasureUP tests. I continually get one question wrong. It seems so simple and it might be a programming problem with the software. It asks to query for LA  in the state field. I have tried to use, Like "LA" and ="LA" and "LA" None of them are right according to the test. what is the answer?
