Elena, I posted a sample database in the group library (Ac2k Form and Subform with Bookmark.mdb). This is my guess of what you wanted.
The form can be expanded to have multiple subforms for the various one-to-many relationships people can have besides phones (names due to marriage, work history, contact log, etc). The subform is linked. Just add data and everything works out. To use the combo box to find someone, simply type the letters of the person's last name until you find the name you want, then press enter. Or, drop down the combo box, scroll to the name you want, and click it. Either way will take you directly to the name you want (useful if you have a lot of names). The combo box uses DAO, and will only work if you have the DAO reference set in VBA. If you have any questions about any of this, please post back. Question to the moderators: I'm not picturing this as a long term reference document. It's more of a visual aid for this thread. How long should it be left in the library before I delete it to free up space? I want a form where I can select a person from a combo box and have their info, from BOTH tables, be displayed. I have tried using a query using certain criteria but I still can't get it to work. Any suggestions? Would it be better just to have one table containing all of the info? Thanks. Please zip all files prior to uploading to Files section. Yahoo!
