Our workaround for this was to purchase some pretty inexpensive component to composite adapters/downconverters, since the Sony EVI-HD1 cameras do simultaneously output HD component and HDSDI. You will also need a pretty readily available HD15(VGA) to BNC or RCA breakout cable to plug into the cameras as they are not included... The only thing to be wary of is to make sure the converters you purchase handle the HD resolution and frame rate you have the cameras set to. The ones we purchased are the Lenkeng LKV7611's, around $50 USD each. There are probably better ones out there, as these do not support all of the resolutions the EVI-HD1's output and don't really have any scaling options, but I believe they will do the trick for us anyway.

To work around that, I had been thinking about using one of the more sophisticated blackmagic cards, say Decklink Studio or Extreme which takes in HD in whatever format (SDI, HDMI, DVI, YUV) and at the same time provides a downconverted version at its output. If you then run that output into a normal capture card, you should be able to stream HD and PAL/NTSC simultaneously.
