Colleagues

This email is a friendly reminder suggesting you to register your Access Grid
on the Global AG node listings and/or verify that the current listing
information is up to date.

For those who don't know how to create a node listing, the following
instructions may be of some use.

· Simply log on to the www.accessgrid.org<http://www.accessgrid.org>
website (as your user) by selecting the "User Account" tab found at the top of
the http://www.accessgrid.org webpage. For those who are new, you may have to
register first.

· Then simply click on the "create content" link found on the left had
side of the page;

·         Then select "node listing";

Note: It would be greatly appreciated and valued if you can fill out as much of
the content as possible.

Additionally it should be known that currently multiple people cannot be owners
of a AG node listing. Therefore, it is recommended to create an genetic
account on the www.accessgrid.org<http://www.accessgrid.org> website. By using
a generic account, such as your local institution, you have the ability to
distribute the account information to a selected few, thereby allowing a number
of people the ability to edit one or more node listings. This is preferable,
particularly on occasions where students and/or staff members may change on a
regular basis.

I am also happy to say that there are almost 300 Access Grids nodes listed at
the Global Node Listing website http://www.accessgrid.org/nodes across 31
countries.

Can I also take this opportunity to remind you to add the extra information to
the Node listing.

· Nodes from the listings appear randomly on the front page. These are
drawn from node listings that have images.

· In regards to gaining GPS (Latitude and Longitude) information, you
can use Google Maps to gain such information. A guide on how to do it can be
found at: http://www.accessgrid.org/node/767

· Remember to update your Node Capabilities, (Note, I highly suggest
those still Running AG version 2.x, to upgrade to 3.1 as soon as possible):

o AGTK 3.0 Capable

o AGTK 3.1 Capable

o inSORS IG2 Capable

o inSORS IG1 Capable

For those nodes that are still owned by me (from being transferred from
AGCentral ages ago) or currently owned by someone else, please contact me and I
can transfer the node listing to you. (You need to have a registered account
on the www.accessgrid.org<http://www.accessgrid.org> website for the
transferral to occur)

If you have any problems in regards to the Global Node listing, please don't
hesitate to contact me.

Thanks very much for your time,

Jason.
