As everyone probably knows, Baton Rouge and many parts of Louisiana were hit extremely hard with Gustav. LSU Suffered power loss and some damage according to reports, I can tell you our Access Grid venue server remains down for the time being and will not be hosting any Access Grid meetings before Monday, perhaps longer.
I'm just briefly able to dialup to check messages, as most of Baton Rouge is without power, so I may not be able to respond to emails promptly. Wish us well, John Q. -- John I. If you've scheduled an event on this venue server, you may wish to reschedule it to another server such as NCSA's, etc. for next week, particularly Sept 2-5. I do plan to keep it up unless we suffer a power failure/network failure and I do plan to keep a video stream or two (there are 3 now, two from our Life Sciences and one from our Center for Computation and Technology) in the Argonne Lobby during those times unless we have a meeting in progress and it's business as usual. On another note, I'm pleased to add a new venue to our server called the Atchafalaya Swamp to keep up enough virtual spaces available for meeting in our region.
