Hi Jason, Lots to see and do around Vancouver, depending on your preferences...
Lots of great hiking in the area (along the coast, to the tops of the local mountains), cycling, kayaking, etc. If you are a fitness buff, I would recommend the Grouse Grind (nature's stairmaster), a relatively steep hour long climb to the top of Grouse Mountain just outside of the city. Stunning views from the top and a nice Gondola ride down 8-) A couple of photos from a ski trip to Grouse Mountain a month or so ago from the top of Grouse Mountain can be found here... http://www.sfu.ca/~bcorrie/PhotoSites/Skiing/content/P1000410_large.html http://www.sfu.ca/~bcorrie/PhotoSites/Skiing/content/P1000428_large.html The drive up to Whistler is worth while (about 90 minutes) with lots of scenic stops on the way. You can do all sorts of outdoor activities there as well, including zip trekking, mountain biking, golfing. Stanley Park is a must see if you want a peaceful walk along the ocean (or an inline skate or bike ride). Of course there are the usual museums, aquarium, science centre, etc. Depending on when things happen, I would be happy to be a tour guide and provide some transportation... I am unfortunately busy the Saturday following the retreat. Let me know what people suggest and we can go from there.
