G'day Ben and all If I may add some additional comments to Chris's reply.
As you may not be aware, I have submitted a bug about this particular issue, see http://bugzilla.mcs.anl.gov/accessgrid/show_bug.cgi?id=1777 As a work around, I simply store the "Node Configuration" as a different name, say "Standard" and select the default option. The great thing about using different node configurations, is that you can save various config's for different purposes. For example, I have a number of config's * default - Nothing configured, but allows a fall back to default option; * Standard - Just the basic everyday config; * Standard + extras - When I want to use things like VPCSreen and other node services; * Standard + Extra Camera - If the additional camera is needed; * Standard + DV Consumer - For when I want to view HDV/DV streams; * Standard + DV - For when I want to transmit a DV Stream; * High Bandwidth - For when I want to transmit using maximum quality settings; and * Low Bandwidth - For when bandwidth is an issue. With using the VenueClient Menu Option "Tools -> Configurations -> <config name>", this allows the easy selection of various AG node configurations. Anyway, I hope this info is of some use. Cheers, Jason. -----Original Message----- From: Ben Green [mailto:ben.gr...@manchester.ac.uk] Sent: Thursday, 3 April 2008 08:38 PM To: ag-t...@mcs.anl.gov Subject: [AG-TECH] Error storing node configuration - Linux After adding my VideoProducer, I've never been able to store the current node configuration as default for AG3.1 under Fedora or Debian. I suspect a certain file doesn't have the correct write permissions. It just means I have to add the VideoProducer service every time I start my client - no big problem, but slightly annoying. The error message is "Error storing node configuration default". Does anyone know how to fix this?
