Hello everyone, RIT will be broadcasting two events over AccessGrid this week. Both will be with AG3, in the Rochester Institute of Technology Venue, on Argonne's VenueServer. Check AGSchedule for a link.
--- RC Seminar: Paul Avery (U. of Fl, Physics) On Wednesday, 5/23/2007 1800-1900 UTC (2-3PM Eastern): http://agschedule.ncsa.uiuc.edu/meetingdetails.asp?MID=19828 The Center for Computational Relativity and Gravitation (CCRG) and Research Computing will be hosting Paul Avery from the Physics Department at the University of Florida for a talk on "The Open Science Grid." Paul is the Director of two NSF-funded Grid Projects (GriPhyN and iVDGL). His group is also a founding member of the Open Science Grid consortium. Given the subject of his talk, we thought it might be of interest to faculty and staff who are interested in facilitating or using such grids. You can learn more about Paul and his research activities from his website: http://www.phys.ufl.edu/~avery/ All sites are welcome, but may not be able to speak directly to the presenter. We will display two VIC streams and one DV stream with the ExtendedVideoService. --- ...and on Thursday, May 24 at 1530-1615 UTC (11:30 Eastern): Joe Geigel`s Virtual Theater class will be giving their demos. I really have no idea what sort of show they have planned, but it'll be there if you're feeling curious. http://agschedule.ncsa.uiuc.edu/meetingdetails.asp?MID=19829 All are welcome to watch, but please don`t transmit audio or video. We will also be broadcasting DV with the ExtendedVideoService. --- Thank you, -Ed Brannin ICE Lab Manager @ RIT [email protected]
