Thank you for the explanation Andrew. :)
We are on an incredibly secure & strict network, so that means we don't have access to the outside world. Therefore we have to use our own registry and even our own jabber server for the chat. All the networks ports are open. I am thinking it may have something to do with our bridge registry, as I can't see my bridge server as being in that list at any point in time. I will keep playing around and hopefully I may get a little bit closed to the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for your help. These are the bridge registry, the bridge registry peer(s) and the bridge servers. The registry holds a (currently static) list of registry peers. The bridge server connects to the registry and gets this list of peers. It then tries each one in the list until one works and then registers itself with this peer. The client then connects to the registry and gets the same list of peers and again tries each one until one works. The client then gets the list of bridges from this peer and shows you them (currently just 10 of them). You can run your own registry and peer(s) but you would then need to change a hidden configuration option in the client to point at your registry rather than the ANL one (this will change in the next version where you will be able to change this option in the client and even have multiple registries specified). The below log files all seem to be fine, I included them in this email for anyone to take a look. My Bridge.log file seems to be rather empty. Even with me trying to connect to the bridge and use it, which afterwards i get an error messege it still remains empty. The bridge registry is on another machine, once I start my BridgeServer script from my machine is it meant to add my bridge to the peers.txt file? Would it be worthwhile setting up another Bridge Registry to test things? If so are there any documents posts about how to do so? These usually tell you what is going wrong. In another location I am setting up another venue server. So far I have successfully installed the VenueServer, but my Bridge is not working. I run the Bridge server via a batch file with the name, location and the bridge registry path of the first Bridge Registry. The script that I am running is: Cd "C:\Program Files\AGTk-3\bin" C:\Python23\python.exe Bridge3.py --registryUrl=http://mybridgeregistryserver:8080/AGBridgeRegistry/peers.txt --name=MyBridgeName --location="My Location" --qbexec=./QuickBridge.exe All the Venue Clients are able to see my new bridge but all get an error message when they try and use it. "Connection to the bridge <name> failed. Please use a different bridge" The Bridge is being run on the same machine as the Venue server, and even the client on that same machine comes up with that same error. All the machine do not have connectivity to the internet. Any advice would be much appriciated.
