FYI - Mike Papka from ANL will be giving a AG update at this workshop. I'll
make sure he doesn't drink too much of the kool-aid!

Concluding Remarks

ConferenceXP Pre-Workshop Training Available Online

A ConferenceXP pre-workshop training session was held on Wednesday, June 15,
2005. This provided a fast-paced, one-day class on Microsoft .NET, Microsoft
Visual Studio .NET, and Microsoft Visual C#®. It was designed for professional
developers or advanced computer science students with object
oriented-programming (OOP) experience in C++ or Java who have written several
large applications. However, security, database, and Web development experience
were not required. This class, taught by DevelopMentor<http://www.develop.com>,
was a subset of their highly respected curricula of .NET courses.

Topics covered included:

§ .NET Platform architecture (covered new 2.0 features as well)

§ Overview of C# programming

§ Reference and Value Types (included Generics from 2.0)

§ Garbage collection

§ Delegates and Events

§ Async execution and synchronization

If you are new to developing on ConferenceXP or new to C# and managed code,
watch the videos of the
pre-workshop<http://research.microsoft.com/conferencexp/resources_library.aspx>
training prior to registering and attending this year's workshop (note:
requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later).

Workshop Location

This year's ConferenceXP Workshop will be held at the Bellevue Hyatt.

Bellevue Hyatt
