Well that was my take too. If the codecs haven't been written to take
advantage of the 64bit processor, even with a recompile the only advantage
will be the access to more registers. I reckon the only reason to run 64bit
at the moment is if you've got large memory requirements. Now 64bit linux on
the other hand is somewhat less painful.
