Curating and the Collection:
Future plans for a digital stereo image archive
and touring exhibitions in 3D.

Karen Grainger
Curator, The Stereoscopic Society

The Stereoscopic Society has a growing archive of 13,000 original stereo
photographic works donated by its members over time, dating from the 1920s to
the present. Karen is a practising artist who concentrated on the medium of
stereo photography for the last two years. In her role as the new Curator for
the Society, Karen details her long-term plans for the archive, as well as her
new objective of creating a regular program of touring public exhibitions, with
work from the collection, new work or a mixture of both. Potential old and new
technology viewing and screening methods will also be discussed.
