Hi all! I've got a local venue up and running and clients on several different subnets. Some of the clients can share AV just fine, but some can not. In particular, I have a wireless laptop that can not get audio or video from any other machine.
It was suggested that maybe the bridgeserver would help as it was believed wireless tends to block multicast. So, I've no installed and configured the bridgeserver to work. This had the result of allowing some of the machines on different subnets to now share video--whereas previously the could not, but the wireless laptop still can not participate (the wireless laptop can share apps, data, etc...just not audio or video). Also, only the video seems to work over unicast--the audio does not appear to be shared. That is, RAT does not list any audio sorces except for the local machine. Anyone got any ideas of what might be going on? The bridgeserver puts us in a marginally happier place, but I'm still counting on being able to link in the wireless laptop--which I currently can't do. If anyone has an idea of what to look at or where, I would be very greatful! Thanks! Brian Tieman Advanced Photon Source Argonne National Laboratory
