November 5, 2004: The Access Grid and Streaming Media Invited Speaker: Tom Uram Tom will present the requirements the AccessGrid presents to streaming media solutions, some history of the existing tools, and some useful libraries for developing new tools. Also, a plan for building high performance, flexible, platform-specific media tools using QuickTime and Microsoft DirectShow will be discussed. There will be a second session held for those in the Asia-Pacific region, at 6:01PM CST (00:01 UTC, Wednesday). Of course, anyone is welcome to attend this session, if it's more agreeable with their schedules. ANL will be running bridges in the Argonne venue for both AG1 and AG2 users.
