Hi Janina,

Unfortunately, I will be traveling Tuesday to the ARIA editors meeting at
SAS but Pete will be present.

Pete,

You might also make sure Aaron is available as he is implementing
IAccessible2. If we were to change the event constants, for example, we
would need to assess the impact to the application vendors and when they
could implement a change. Symphony could also be in a position to change
some of these now.

Regarding Linux, someone should address the question about control
patterns. One problem we would have is the Microsoft Community Promise on
UIA does not allow implementors to take parts of UIA:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/bb892136.aspx

Mapping properties is one thing but implementing entirely new interfaces
that allow an AT to do scrolling remotely, etc. is much more involved.

I have in my notes that we will de3vote our main Open A11y
teleconference to you this coming Tuesday at the usual time. This would
be a good time for the general introduction to your work, both on
Windows and on Linux. The specific issues can then be addressed via the
IAccessible2 subteam that Pete Brunet chairs, I think. Of course we will
always want to coordinate as much as we need with AT-SPI/ATK.

I expect to release the agenda for Tuesday's call on Monday when I
return to my office. Let me know if you need to plan anything special or
different. As always, we'll also create an audio archive of your
presentation for people to review afterwards--if that is acceptable.
