Also Rajesh, if I may add. Pure risk cover is something no agent offers
you straight away, because the commission on such a policy is less. You
will have to really work hard with him to get details and only an agent
who is close to you arranges for the policy. This is the experience of
several normal persons as well.

I personally heard from a blind person that LIC had refused to give him
a policy citing his blindness and even writing to the Chairman didn't
prove effective. As far me, I have just taken a policy with my wife and
may be that's why there aren't any problems so far.

Well, public sector insurers like LIC surely do perceive the threat to
be
higher and do charge higher primia. Don't think IRDA has said anything
on
the issue
