Dear Keshav:

Having tried to learn about the CBSE's attitude towards disabled
students, I had been to their regional office three years ago and was
told that the CBSE gives various optional subjects for PWD's. In them, I
didn't find science or math, though the regional director clarified that
the board doesn't primarily object, if students opt for these two
subjects.

However, making sure that if an answer sheet is completely worked out by
the students and they aren't helped by the scribes is something that
most individual schools and some board officials are concerned about.
This is largely due to their lack of understanding of a VI person and
the hard work he/she had to put in in order to get to some level. It is
also fact that most scribes, I mean most, won't co-operate if you ask
them to simply copy or work out the sum for themselves. But, most in the
board and in schools don't understand this. This is unfortunate and if
the determination of the CBSE is up to the level mentioned in the news
item posted in the list, I am sure it would make a difference.

sorry, but, let me make it clear to every one that the same CBSE is,
not at
all ready to allow the students of the blind relief association to go
for
these 2 subjects.

our prinsipal is struggling for the same cince July 2005.
i however, now feel that this new development may pave way for the
above.

regards,
Keshav.
