Hi all, In the first place, when considering password protection, you need to consider your threat model. Who are you trying to protect against? What are the capabilities and re sources of such a person or entity?
Also, keep strong passwords. A password must not be a dictionary word, it must be a mix of lower and upper characters and numbers. Ideally, a password should be more than eight characters. It is trivial to break Word and Excel encryption however, with complex passwords, the attacker will need to brute force the password which given current hardware is quite time-consuming.
