Here are some of following Basic Tips for ThinkPad users. Read carefully and 
just follow it them, enjoy the every moment you spend with your ThinkPad.

  GENERAL TIPS TO THINKPAD USERS
   
  ·        To Back up important Data on Network folder.
   
  ·        Be sure that hands are free from any lotion which could cause damage 
to keyboard.
   
  ·        Store your external and removable hard disk drive, diskette drive, 
and CD-ROM drives in the appropriate container or packaging when not in use.
   
  ·        When installing your hard disk drive, diskette drive, or CD-ROM 
drive, apply pressure only where indicated on the device.
   
  ·        Think Pad must be kept on flat, solid surface while using.
   
  ·        Always keep Think Pad plugged into the supplied surge protector when 
it is plugged in or charging.
   
  ·        When installing the CD-ROM or diskette drive into the Ultra bay, 
make sure the AC Adapter is disconnected from your computer.
   
  ·        Use a soft Lint FREE moistened non-alkaline detergent cloth to wipe 
the exterior of the Think pad. Gently wipe the LCD with a DRY lint free soft 
cloth.
   
  ·        Do not place heavy objects on your Think Pad.
   
  ·        Do not keep any liquid/food near to your Think Pad.
   
  ·        Do not disassemble your computer. Only an authorized IBM Think Pad 
repair person should disassemble and repair your computer.
   
  ·        Do not scratch, twist, hit, or push the surface of your Think Pad 
display.
   
  ·        Do not turn your computer over while the AC Adapter is plugged in. 
It may break the adapter plug.
   
  ·        Do not store your computer where the temperature is below 5° C or 
above 35° C (41° F and 95° F).
   
  ·        Do not pick up or hold your computer by the display. When picking up 
your open computer, hold it by the bottom (keyboard) half.
   
  ·        Do not use Different adapter unless recommended by IBM TRC
   
  ·        Do not connect a PBX (private branch exchange) or other digital 
telephone extension line.
   
  ·        Your Think Pad can use only a public-switched  telephone network 
(PSTN). Use of a phone line  other than PSTN can damage your modem.So check 
before
  connecting the telephone cable.
