Such problem may occur if the "View my desktop as web page" option is
checked in the Display properties. Give it a try.

Go to Control Panel, Display, Web tab and uncheck the option I mentioned
before.

At times screen resolution may also cause the problem. In that case you will
have to try different resolutions. On windows xp 1024x768 is the normal
resolution and jaws works normally with it.
