Hello. There may not be any formal order in this regard. But then university authorities, if considerate enough, do entertain applications of such kind. In fact, in my case, the university authorities gave me an option. I could have an amanuensis with 30 mins extra time or I could use the computer with no additional time. I opted for the latter and the experience has been very satisfying so far. On the other hand, there are certain universities which are infamous for their apathy. A few years back, the Calcutta University did not allow my sister to use a typewriter for examination purposes.
