According to a report by Huffington Post India, the disabled-friendly feature will be implemented in the Zomato app in six metros namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai within two weeks. Malhotra told the website that he got in touch with Zomato executives who welcomed the suggestion and the firm has already started collecting data from listed restaurants focusing on establishments that are accessible through wheelchair. After a recent visit to the US, Malhotra discovered that the popular restaurant listing service Yelp featured the disabled-friendly indicator for establishments that offered ramps and other disabled-friendly facilities. This inspired him to reach out to Zomato and give the company a suggestion to introduce a similar feature. Malhotra said an earlier incident involving a Delhi restaurant that denied him entry because of his disability also prompted him to come up with the suggestion. In March, he was denied entry into the posh Keya Restaurant and Bar at Delhi's DLF Promenade. The act of refusal by the restaurant, which turned him away with the help of four security guards who called him "disabled" caused a furore in the social media, and had provoked censure by many prominent citizens of the country. Keya Restaurant, however, had a different version to offer and had denied the allegations. The management at Keya had tweeted, clarifying that Malhotra had earlier dined there and had been welcomed because the restaurant was disabled-friendly, but he was denied entry because he was part of a stag group on Holi. Malhotra, however, had said that the restaurant staffers told him that denying entry to disabled people was part of their policy. Eminent citizens, however, have come out in support of Malhotra in this regard. सादर / With thanks & Regards राजेश आसुदानी Rajesh Asudani सहायक महाप्रबन्धक AGM बाजार आसूचना ईकाई MIU भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक Reserve Bank of India नागपुर Nagpur 0712 2806846 President VIBEWA Co-Moderator VIB-India A-pilll = Action coupled with Positivity, Interest, Love, Logic and laughter. ________________________________ Caution: The Reserve Bank of India never sends mails, SMSs or makes calls asking for personal information such as your bank account details, passwords, etc. It never keeps or offers funds to anyone.
