Really it is sad thing. This is happening because lack of penelty for
non implementation in the act.

We conducted web accessibility servay of All IITs, IIMs, central
universities and universities with potential of excellance in 2014,
none of the universities web portal is near to WCAG2.0 A compliance.
I also doubt that any of these universities would have accessible
physical infrastructure.

Since last 5 years i am trying to convince our university officials
about making barrier free environment in Pune university campus, but
no actual action. I hear only deplomatic words that they want to make
not only university campus but all of its affiliated colleges
accessible to every one. I also laf and that is my helplessness. We
provide consultancy outside but could not make our own services
accessible.

I think we should be very harsh now. We should gather and plan for
strong agitation. Unless we make it an issue, we won't get justice.
Media can show debate on silly issues for several days and weeks, but
not on accessibility like important issues of millions of persons with
disabilities of the nation.
I have never seen any debate on inaccessible environment for persons
with disabilities in any media. Is it not important for the nationn?
Can't it generate TRP?

Regards
