JAMMU: A visually-challenged man has cracked the National Eligibility Test
(NET) and is set to become an Assistant Professor in music. Rahul Kumar, an
inmate of the residential school for blind at Roop Nagar, has qualified the
NET in music. Kumar has been a recipient of 'President's Gold Medal' in BA
and MA music. Director Social Welfare M S Choudhary and the teachers of the
residential school lauded the efforts of Kumar for his remarkable
achievement. The school celebrated the success by distributing sweets.

It was an exhilarating moment for the over 300 odd students, professionals
– all visually impaired – who heard and understood each and every moment on
an onscreen movie for the first time at the Mehr Chand Polytechnic College,
Jalandhar. It was also the first time an audio film was screened in Punjab. On
Gandhi Jayanti today, visually impaired people from across Punjab shared
the special experience of silently enjoying a film without seeking support
from someone. Students, disability group activists, professionals and
intellectuals from various districts including Chandigarh, Ludhiana,
Amritsar among other cities and villages all joined each other in this
special screening of Lord Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi on Mahatma Gandhi’s
birth anniversary today. This unique experience was made possible by the

2. Job-

There is one post as  Senior Law Officer,  two posts as Assistant Director
(Ministerial),  two posts as Legal Assistant, Two posts as Assistant  for
Visually Impaired in Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Qualification: (i)
Senior Law Officer: (i) Possessing Regular Degree in Law (entitling the
incumbent for Registration at bar and appearing before the Courts) from a
recognized University or equivalent; and (ii)07 years experience at bar.
Age: Not exceeding 35 yrs (ii) Assistant Director (Ministerial): Master of
Business Administration or equivalent with specialization in Personnel, HR,
Industrial Relation,  Real Estate/Urban Management, Finance & Marketing.
Age: Not exceeding 30 yrs (iii)  Legal Assistant: (i) Possessing Regular
Degree in Law (entitling the incumbent for Registration at bar and
appearing before the Courts) from a recognized university or equivalent;
and (ii) 03 years experience at bar. Age: Not exceeding 30 yrs. (iv)
Assistant : (i).Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any recognized
university. (ii).Computer Proficiency.  Age: Not exceeding 30 yrs. Scribe
will be provided by the Delhi Development Authority only to such candidates
who have sought a Scribe in the online application form.   Probation period
