A large bunch of Bills — some pending for several years — awaits
action as Parliament meets in the Winter Session tomorrow. The govt
has not revealed its priorities yet, but it is likely to push the GST
and Real Estate Bills strongly. Real lawmaking is expected to start
only on Monday, after the two-day commemoration of the adoption of the
Constitution.

The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2015
Replaces Ordinance promulgated on June 15; amends 1881 Act on
promissory notes, cheques; specifies penalties for bounced cheques,
etc.

The Repealing and Amending (Fourth) Bill, 2015
Seeks to repeal 295 Acts and make minor amendments to two laws.

Replaces 2000 Act. Permits juveniles aged 16-18 years to be tried as

The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of
Atrocities) Amendment Bill, 2014
Introduced in LS on July 16, 2014 to replace Ordinance. Adds new
offences, such as forcing SC/ST to vote/not vote, assaulting/sexually
exploiting SC/ST woman, garlanding with footwear, abusing SCs/STs by
caste name, etc

The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013
Amends Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988; makes specific provisions

The Mental Health Care Bill, 2013
Introduced in RS on August 19, 2013. Repeals Mental Health Act, 1987.
