While all such efforts are surely deserve appriciations, I wonder why these are done on â?oSpecialâ? day only? why canâ?Tt the NGOs and AIR in collaberation make this for a regular basis by imparting adiquit training and/ infrastructure? If this can be done for one day, I am dam sure this should not be impossible to employ VI RJs/news readers in AIR for regular basis.

This would not only boost employment opportunities for VIs but would also help in driving the positive atitude towards the capabilities of visually impaired people and would help in changing the peopleâ?Ts perception towards us.

With best regards,

Subject: [AI] A visually impaired read news bulletin on the occastion of world Braille day at Pune

The birth anniversary of Louis Brail, who was the inventor of a system of
reading and writing for use by the visually impaired, was celebrated today
in a unique way by our regional news unit Pune.

A part of morning bulletin today was read by visually impaired News reader.
A report

"This happened for the first time in the history of Marathi news bulletins
on All India Radio. Considering close bonding of visually impaired people
with audio medium this exercise was done with the cooperation of Pune Blind
Men's Association. Special arrangements were made in the studios of All
India Radio for this special broadcast. Nitin Kelkar for AIR News Pune."
