As I shared in my earlier post about the Marathi Film “Chaurya” available
in accessible formats i.e. Audio description and captions is now releasing
tomorrow.

The team of Chaurya film is providing updates through their Facebook page
and are welcoming request for a special show for blind persons in any city
where 100-150 blind persons can come together to view the movie. The
requirement is of special show as at present none of our theatres are
equipped with headphone arrangement. Chaurya film has two prints for UFO
transmission one is regular and other is with accessible format.

There is no extra cost other than movie ticket price to individual. This
morning I spoke to Mr. Kiran Khandge 9819367646 whose number is provided on
the Facebook page of Chaurya. He told me that Rotary in Pune arranging
such shows.

So here is an opportunity to the organizations and a large group of blind
persons to request for special shows and experience live audio described
movie in a theatre.
Kindly contact
Kiran Khandge 9819367646
Mandar Khanvilkar 9322211854
(Note: Above numbers are shared on the Facebook page of Chaurya)

In case of live audio described screening at cinema hall, the normal film
soundtrack comes through surround sound speakers in the usual way. Those
with headsets will have both cinema soundtrack and recorded audio narration
during gaps in the dialogs.
Cinema hall should have seats with arrangement to plug in personal
headphone or one provided by them on demand. Theses seats are like
aeroplane seats having a jack on rest arm or suitably placed. Hall should
have sound play wiring accordingly. And of course movie should be made
with audio description tracks.

Prashant
