Autotext proved quite ridiculous for me. Once I was typing a book for our
Braille press, Wonders of Life on Earth. It was in ms word, of course. The
book had the name of Charles Darwin many times. I made an autotext entry as
D for Darwin.
During this time I wrote a proposal for a Braille embosser, Index Basic-D. I
did not check the text and the proposal went to the company as Index
Basic-Darwin. Luckily it was granted and the embosser is still working.
Anyway, the problem is that you must take care. Try to use some unique
combination of characters for the autotext.
If you are using office 2003, you will find it on Tools, Autocorrect ...
dialogue box. You have to press ctrl+tab to access the autotext page. The
steps are self-explanatory.
I am not sure of office 2007 or the higher versions.
