How do you know it? 0.5 per cent each is expected to be divided
between totally blind and low-vision categories. I've made a cursory
read on the amendments and asking the biggest question why the
government has not yet specified in clear terms about how the 4 per
cent reservation will be distributed among increased categories in the
proposed Bill. The instances abound where the low-vision have hundred
per cent certificate and the sighted people have low-vision
certificate and they are using the document to sail through in the
government jobs. Government is hellbent in giving certificate but what
about the menace of fake certificates? what does the law say about it?
I don't know. Many states including Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar
Pradesh have publickly affirmed that they don't want totally blind
people in their offices at any cost. In fact majority of government
offices don't want those who can't talk in their eyes. Where do we go
from here, in hell perhaps. people living in the cities and those
already employed are fortunate ones. and those who've sound family
support system and keep on teaching list that 'something is good than
nothing' will continue to sing the government version song for their
personal goals. They are very much in demand for awards. And they will
continue to play partisan role to be patronized. upcoming times are
not gonna be rosy, be prepared and learn the art to face the bumpy
road from the so called 'normal' and from our own blind friends who
are there to collaborate to make you 'inspirational' and 'role
models'; cause being ordinary is an extraordinary crime if you are
disabled...
