Since 1996 we have trained thousands of visually impaired persons of all age groups in the use of computers and assistive technology. DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY has emerged as a new field for employment of the visually impaired. In the recent past skilled blind persons have been able to get employed as Software Testers, Accessibility Evaluators, Usability Testers, Trainers and Technical Writers. There is an increased awareness to make the digital systems such as websites, eBooks, software and mobile apps usable by the persons with disabilities. Various international and national laws are now making this a necessary compliance requirement. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for those persons who can test the websites and other digital mediums and report problems if any for use by disabled persons. Since the blind persons after training can effectively use the digital medium, this field has emerged as a very suitable career option for the blind and low vision.
