As per directions from the Delhi HC the GOI and RBI are in the process of developing a new set of coins with particular emphasis of the coins being accessible. These new coins are likely to be launched towards the end of 2019. I have seen the prototypes and I can say that each coin is distinct and easy to identify. This I believe is the first step towards having accessible coins and currency notes.
