Dear all, I just tried out the Airtel Android Settop box, thanks to Rajpal for informing me.
Airtel TV is selling this settop box for just Rs. 3,500. The dish antenna and installation charges are included. The settop box has android OS. I could go into settings and switch on Talkback. The best part is it is reading the channel names and programs as I go to next or previous channel. I can also press the down arrow key and read aloud the next program on the channel. With this, there is no need to buy the expensive Sony or Samsung TVs. It will work with any TV which has HDMI connection. You can install this Airtel settop box and enjoy satellite channels as well as apps like Netflix, Youtube etc. It is also possible to pause and rewind live TV. You can also save programs by connecting hard disk. It has many more features. Actually it is like a andoid mobile phone connected to the TV. If you want accessible TV then this is worth trying out. If this had come out earlier, I would have purchased it instead of the 85,000 Sony TV I was told by Airtel staff that this is in the market for several months now. Unfortunately, we did not hear about it in our circles.
