It is time, we closely look into the policy and ensure in this stage
itself that our concerns are adequately addressed.
Education of disabled children its ownership should rest with the new
Ministry of Education and not continue to be with the disability
affairs. It should ensure that the present system of special school for
the disabled school continues along with integrated school model.
Although, personally I would pitch for integrated education model.
There should be emphasis for accessibility of school infra structure
including labs, library etc. to all types of disabled students. This
should be properly documented in the policy and should not be appended
as an after thought as what happend in SSA.
Any disabled representative was a part of the committee?
