Hi all, I have been running for almost five years now. I began my running journey by holding on to elbow. I was extreamely overweight 108kg and now I am 83kg. When I used to walk I would always hear people practicing for marathon and that excited me. I initially used to hold elebow but one of my close friend taught me to run by myself and jusst rely on voice guidance. I run along with fellow runner who is running with me at the same speed and tells me right, slight left or right, bad patch of road, speed bump. I am happy to let you all know that last Sunday I had completed half marathon (21kM) only on voice guidance. I am also applying to limca books of record as I know this may be the first of it's kind to run as blind only on voice guidance. Taking the liberty of sharing my recent social media post. March 20, 2022 Wishing all of you happy & colourful Holi!!! Proud to let you know that today I completed half marathon (21km) 13.05 miles in 3hr12min as part of first official marathon organized by Ageas Federal insurance. It was difficult, challenging and last 2km (1.24miles) I wanted to abort my mission but grateful to Daybed Mondal and Prakash Singh sir who issued verbal instructions. For many of you, it may not be a big deal but for me running as blind person without holding elbow and running just on voice guidance indeed is an achievement for me. I am also applying for Limca books of records for being the first blind runner to run half marathon on voice guidance and zero touch. My sincere thanks to family, Amit Ghosh, our gym trainer and jBro from NAV sports for facilitating my personal achievement.
