Hi, Ideally, term life insurance policies cannot be issued to persons with disability whose nature of disability is degenerative or progressive in nature. However, PWDs whose nature of disability is constant should be issued term life insurance policies. However insurance companies are notorious for regarding disability as violating the 'Declaration of Good Health' clause. With the help of one considerate insurance agent I had been issued term life insurance policy of SBI Life after stringent medical test including blood test, urine test, ECG, ophthalmic tests, etc. Please also be advised that after the onset of pandemic, securing term life insurance policies have become difficult for so called able-bodied also. Moreover, premium has also increased exorbitantly. So, you may consider to buy government-backed insurance policies, Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna and Suraksha Beema Yojna, which offer cover of ₹2 lakhs each in case of natural death and accedental death respectively. For little more coverage, you may also consider buying ULIPs.
