The UDID card is an attempt of the Govt. to issue a Disability ID that would be recognized and used across the country. The card we receive in the mail I believe is not valid. Strange as it sounds, only the plastic card dispatched by the Govt. appears to be valid. It should be valid like AAdhar and pan card. but banks and various government institutions refused to accept UDID as a ID proof. UDID is mandatory in some states for availing wellfare schemes ment for the PWD. Some states are yet to approve UDID card as a ID proof.
