Hi, we are a team of researchers at Microsoft Research India, working on developing tools, technologies, and support for people with visual impairment. In the Microsoft Research India Accessible e-Newspapers Research Project, we aim to make newspapers accessible to the visually impaired community.
This study is divided into three parts. The first part delves into the depth of your experience with accessibility of news from sources such as newspapers, e-Papers, websites, apps, etc. over a remote phone call (20-30 mins). The second part asks you to read an accessible version of a national newspaper (either in Hindi or English language) received through email or Telegram or WhatsApp based on your preference daily for approximately a period of four weeks. The third part involves sharing your experience of reading the accessible newspaper with us through a semi-structured online interview (30-40 mins). Upon full completion of the study, you will receive a PayTM/Amazon/Big Bazaar (based on your preference) gift card of 400 INR per hour spent in interviews as a token of appreciation for your time and effort. If interested in participating, please contact me at t-peyamo...@microsoft.com. In case you have any questions about the study and/or the project, please email me (t-peyamo...@microsoft.com) or Saikat ( sai...@microsoft.com). We also request you to kindly share this email with your contacts who have visual impairment. If you’d rather not be contacted regarding this in the future or have any questions about this project, please let us know.
