The readers must be aware of the fact that Late Sh. MadanlalKhandelwal had always thought and contributed for the betterment of the blind brothers and sisters of India despite living abroad for years. His thoughts and ideas were creative. He was not a preacher, but he certainly wanted to prove his worth. It is true that he always lived a saintly life. Therefore, the Confederation has been organizing Braille Essay competition to commemorate his contributions for last several years. This competition was organized in different languages in the past. But it has been noticed that we are not receiving sufficient number of entries from the schools/participants. As a result, justice is not done to such a great personality.
--The age limit for the junior group shall be upto 18 years so that school level students may not have to face competition with college level students. --Any person who is 19 or more can participate without any hesitation in the senior group. --It was decided that name, address etc. will not be included in the word limit of the essay. --The minimum word limit of the essay for senior group shall be 800, and maximum limit shall be 1000 words. For junior group, minimum word limit shall be 500 and maximum word limit 700. --The essayist will have to ensure the accuracy of Braille, diction, suitability of style, and interesting presentation of the mentioned facts while writing the essay. --The essay submitted should be original in nature, and it should not be copied from website or any other source. --The essayist should use either Braille slate or Braille typewriter to write his/her essay. --For junior group, the first prize will consist of Rs. 8,000, second 6,000 and the third prize will consist of Rs. 4,000. For the senior group, the sum of Rs. 10,000, 7,000 and 5,000 will be awarded to the first, second and third winners respectively. -- Group-wise topics for the essay competition are: Junior group (Hindi): “BhavishyameinDrishtiheenonkeliyeupyogeenyetakneekeeupkaran—kya or kyon?.” Junior group (English): “Your priorities for new technological devices required for the visually impaired in future and why.” Senior group (Hindi): “Social Media—UpyogitaVaDushparinam.” Senior group (English): “Social Media—merits and demerits.” The essay should reach AICB office by 31st October, 2022.
