Hello Pavan, You are right, that As per the RBI direction you should be provided with the cheque book facility, however, banks still hesitate to offer the service as there still exist challenges regarding cheque clearance on thumb impression as the new CTS system does not have the capability of doing so. More over RBI, IBA directions have been reiterated several times, however, none of the banks have focused on designing SOPs for third party cheque clearances on thumb impression so far. What I understand is you need the cheque book on urgent basis, and you need a canceled cheque for submitting to the salary section in your company. This requirement can be fulfilled by the bank verified statement as an interim solution.
