When you are in a call, you can use the home button/gesture to go out of the phone app. The call will not get disconnected.
Then you can open the message app and open the one which has OTP. It is best to do this with earphone as it will be difficult to hear the screen reader voice as well as the callers voice in hands free mode. When needed use the app switcher and open the phone app to disconnect the call.
