Dear Friends, XRCVC is delighted to share recent successful advocacy efforts to achieve equal access of JAIIB & CAIIB books from Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (I I B F) required by visually impaired bank employees.
JAIIB (Junior Associate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance) and CAIIB (Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance) are examinations that are conducted by I I B F for its registered members. JAIIB covers basic knowledge of banking concepts, regulations and processes, while CAIIB involves advanced knowledge necessary for decision-making and practical application of banking processes. Qualifying these golden standard exams is incredibly helpful for career progression and provide incentives to the bankers. Many of our visually impaired bankers attempt these exams twice every year. This year IIBF is conducting both JAIIB & CAIIB exams with new syllabus and has added new subjects. IIBF in Jan 2023 made available new syllabus books in hard copy and kindle versions only. The desperate need of the hour was making available books in accessible format for visually impaired bankers who enrolled for May and June 2023 exams. We are happy to share that XRCVC’s persuasion with I I B F for making available accessible format of books resulted in gaining access to ePub format of 4 books directly from IIBF which they shared this week with XRCVC for Sugamya Pustakalaya print disabled members. Considering CAIIB exams are starting from 10th June 2023, we are making available received ePUB format books from IIBF as it is to the DFI library for immediate access to print disabled bankers appearing for CAIIB papers. Following are the ePUB format books: 1. Banking Regulations and Business Laws 2. Advanced Business and Financial Management 3. Advanced Bank Management 4. Bank Financial Management We thank Indian Institute of Banking & Finance for making these books available to us and partnering with XRCVC for print access. Many thanks to Mr. Prashant Naik for facilitating this process. IIBF has a clear instruction that the books only be used for the blind and print disabled members of Daisy Forum of India and not to be used for any other purposes or reproduced or privately distributed. We have not been able to make them 100% accessible because of time urgency, considering the exams are just around the corner but tested them and they are very much navigable and readable with assistive technology. On account of upload issues at the Sugamya Pustakalaya, time being these books will be made available only in an offline mode, Sugamya Pustakalaya bonafide members can request books in offline mode by logging into Sugamya Pustakalaya. So please send the appropriate request if you need it. All the best.Best Regards, Dr. Sam Taraporevala ------------------------------------------ Executive Director Xavier's Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC) St. Xavier's College, Mumbai - 400 001 s...@xrcvc.org +91 9869378436 (M) +91 9967028769 ---------------------------------------- The information contained in this electronic message and any attachments to this message are intended for the exclusive use of the addressee(s) and may contain proprietary, confidential or privileged information.
