This anthology of short stories has been prepared with a definite focus in view. The selection of stories has been judicious. Its main purpose is to illustrate the structure of short story and its various devices like irony, satire, characterization, wit and humour. Besides, the teaching material in these stories can also be used to explain the use of language with the aim to promote linguistic skills.
