you can put it on sleep as much as you want. i tested a fully charged battery with the laptop going on sleep as the plug is pulled and the battery staied for 10 days. the only thing is, you should not have anything connected to laptop via usb. your milage will varry as this test was done on new laptop with intell i5 13500 which supports 3 stage power.
