Hi,

I faced this weird problem some time back when my system used to crash anytime
without doing anything uncommon. Next time when I started my computer, it could
not find any disks --- HardDisk/CD/Floppy.

I opened the cabinet and unplugged and re-plugged the power cable (the one that
supplies power from SMPS to the devices) several times and my system could find
all types of disks. Anyway, that wasn't a desired solution as I was always
uncertain about my system starting up smoothly upon turning it on.

The only remedy that came to help was SMPS replacement. The old SMPS was
somehow unable to supply power to the devices in a proper way. Its more than a
year and my system hasn't crashed.

Try changing the power slot for your hard disk. There are spare power slots
coming from SMPS. If your system works fine you may not need to replace your
SMPS.

Try this method only if you are comfortable with your hardware, else you may
suffer more damage.

Hope this helps you.....
