Summary
The World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) is seeking
a full-time staff member to work on digital accessibility materials. The
Content Specialist will be an integral part of the highly-collaborative
international WAI team integrated in W3C.

W3C is the recognized leader for the technical development of the World
Wide Web, and we seek an individual who is enthusiastic for the mission and
spirit of W3C and the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Updating WAI resources
Developing new course content
Supporting accessibility communications
Content design for new and updated resources
Contributing to collaborative editing of WAI Working Group materials
Contributing to promoting W3C accessibility work through presentations
Requirements
Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
Technical writing and editing expertise
Skilled in using content design to make complex ideas and processes easy to
understand
Ability to plan and write content that meets evidenced user needs
Attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to help build consensus among
stakeholders with diverse perspectives
Ability to work collaboratively using tools such as Google docs and GitHub
Ability to work independently with remote colleagues in an international
distributed environment; experience is a plus

Beneficial skills and experience
Knowledge of accessibility requirements across different types of
disabilities
Knowledge of the technical and educational resources from W3C WAI
Experience in accessible content design, including visual design, user
interface design, and simple language
