Hello Folks,

Recently, I have been trying to opt for health insurance for myself and
reached out to three health insurance providers but have not been able to
get any policy.

I reached out to the following health insurers directly on their customer
care numbers, and after disclosing my disability, they kind of denied me
health insurance services:

• HDFC told me on the call itself that a policy cannot be provided to the
blind and visually impaired.

• NevaBupa told me that I can apply for it, but I might have to fight for
it with the higher management as the application may get rejected.

• Care did the same on the phone.

During my conversations, I informed them about the Supreme Court judgment,
but it didn't seem to make much difference to them.

I have seen some success stories here in this mailing list about availing
health insurance. Could you let me know the way you took to get the policy?

I will now try alternate ways, probably through Policybazaar, etc.

Best,

Kiran
