Dear members, We hope you are doing well. You would recall that we had filed a complaint on a list of 70+ inaccessible digital platforms based on your inputs in March 2023. Pursuant thereto, the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) had held hearings on 16.07.2024 & 07.08.2024 for a number of service providers. A list of the said service providers is attached with this email.
On the hearing conducted on 07.08.2024, the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities had directed various accessibility features to be incorporated into these platforms, along with a mandated audit by an IAAP-certified auditor. In this regard, you may note that the next hearing in the said matter is tomorrow, i.e., 28.01.2025. The objective of the hearing would be to monitor the compliance of the earlier order. Therefore, all of you are requested to kindly share if you continue to face any trouble vis-a-vis digital accessibility on these platforms. You are requested to do this as soon as possible in order for us to be able to incorporate your suggestions for tomorrow's hearing.
